About Forbes Trail Brewing

Forbes Trail Brewing is the fruition of a long term dream. For owner Mike Fahy, it started like many brewers with a love of homebrewing in 2013. With the help of friends, homebrewing became an obsession and got the moniker "Bad Moon Brewing". Inventing new flavors and trying different styles became a passion that continued to grow.

After meeting now-wife, Kaitlin, in 2018, Mike ventured into commercial brewing at Whitehorse Brewing and Olde Bedford Brewing gaining invaluable knowledge in regards to the functions of a large brew system while Kaitlin learned taproom operations.

After those experiences, opening a brewery felt like it could become a reality but it never seemed like the right place or time. Then in the summer of 2021 a commercial building near Flight 93 & Patriot Park in Somerset County, PA became available. After several months of renovations and equipment purchases the brewery officially opened July 8th 2022.

It always takes a lot of work to get a business up and running so good friends and Bad Moon members, John & Ronna Maurizio, decided to come on board as partners. Kaitlin's parents, Brad & Kathy Smith, are also a part of the ownership team and help with the day-to-day business operations!

With the hard work and efforts of the owners, the location now has a warm and welcoming feel inside and a large outdoor space that will be very inviting to all patrons.

Excellent brews and awesome Bloody Mary's on Sundays!

Great beer, great outdoor area and when there's music inside it isn't overwhelming.

It's one of my favorite places to visit. The beer is fantastic, and there are always a dozen different ones on tap. They also have local wines and creative monthly cocktails made with local spirits. They even have homemade non-alcoholic root beer, which my daughter loves. The atmosphere is very family-friendly . They usually have different games on Thursdays, music on the weekends, and, of course, great local food vendors. They also have outdoor seating for the warmer months with fire pits.

We visited the Flight 93 Memorial, and while looking at the map noticed these folks basically across the street. Craft beer? Yes please! We had our dog along, so my wife tended him in the beer garden while I fetched beers from inside. Partner John was working the bar and was very helpful & informative regarding the establishment and of course—the beer. We chose an Octoberfest (Märzen) & NE IPA. It turns out those two are among those the brewery takes the most pride in. There's a good reason for that as they were outstanding! We needed to keep moving, so I bought a mixed 4-pack and said cheers. Please give these good folks a look!

Stumbled across by accident when visiting Flight 93 memorial. What a happy little accident. Ended up staying for 5 hours. Great beer! Enjoyed everything I drank.

This brewery is perfect! Convenient location, much parking, beautiful indoors and outdoors area, friendly staff and awesome beer! I don’t like mango and their mango sour was mind blowing. Loved sitting outside with my dog:)
